An Empire cast member wants out, but why? The show is doing so well, the storyline just keeps getting better and better.
Well it looks like a lot of drama is going down in the Lyon House. As one member has had enough and wants out.
Can you guess who?
According to Page Six, Trai Byers, who plays Lucious Lyon's eldest son Andre Lyon, is itching to leave the series.
According to sources, the actor Trai Byers isn't happy on the show because he's not getting the shine he thinks he deserves. “Trai wants out,” says an insider. “He feels that he studied at Yale and he’s a ‘true thespian’ ... The character is beneath him. He has an idea of himself as being this big Shakespearean actor.”
Another insider adds, “Trai threw a temper tantrum during filming in the past few weeks, saying, ‘I don’t get to do enough, I might leave.’ But producers called his bluff and said, "Fine, if you’re not happy, we don’t need you." Wait what do you mean we don't need you, producers yes we do need him. He's Andre!
However, the source continues, "He thinks he is a brilliant guy who deserves a better role, but he’s hardly one of the most popular or dynamic actors on the show. He also fired all his reps for not getting him big movie roles."
So, if he ends up leaving who's going to replace him? That won't be easy. The change will be hard, I like the character Andre he's very interesting and complex. As he has bipolar you see how he handles with it, the struggle with his family, him being overshadowed by his younger brothers. And most importantly the story between him and his on screen wife Rhonda and their unborn child.
What will happen with this on screen relationship. Plus, what will happen with his off screen relationship with fellow cast member Grace Gealey who plays Anika.
