Last week singer Kesha was denied an injunction last week that would allow her to make music without her producer Dr. Luke her alleged abuser. Since then several celebrities have spoken out in her defence and have shown a lot of love and support. For instance, singer and actress Demi Lovato begged women not to be afraid to come forward with their own stories.
Recently, singer and actress Taylor Swift donated $250,000 to help Kesha with her legal costs. Lena Dunham wrote an essay about how angry and sick the situation has made her feel. Even on Twitter the hashtag #FreeKesha has grown even bigger.
Whilst everything was going on Kesha went silent and nobody had heard from her until now. She's finally broken her silence, she posted on Instagram a picture to thank her supporters and promised that a longer statement is coming soon.
But Kesha wasn't the only one who broke their silence. On Monday, Dr Luke, 42, broke his silence on the allegations, he went on and denied that he raped or ever had sex with Kesha, and claimed that he was being subject to 'trial by Twitter.'
He wrote:
"I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister,"
"Kesha and I made a lot of songs together and it was often good but there were creative differences at times."
"It’s sad that she would turn a contract negotiation into something so horrendous and untrue."
Yesterday at the Brit Awards singer Adele who's also on Sony Record labels showed her support to Kesha as well as she received her award.
