Ryan Coogler's new title

Ryan Coogle is now the first Warner Brother creative talent ambassador in the UK.

The 29 year old film director and screenwriter is making history and is moving higher into success. His first feature film, Fruitvale Station, won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. This starred Michael B Jordan, Melonie Diaz and Octavia Spencer.

If you haven't watched it, add it to your watch list it's a must see movie!

In addition, Coogler himself was a Time Warner Foundation Fellow, supported early in his career by the foundation in partnership with Sundance Institute. That enabled him to develop his first feature, Fruitvale Station.

His 2015 release, Creed, which is connected to the Rocky franchise. This got a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for Sylvester Stallone. It’s grossed over $167M to date worldwide.

Coogler said,
“Having experienced firsthand the support and impact of programs similar to Warner Bros Creative Talent, it is fantastic to know that passionate young people of all backgrounds are being given the chance to follow their dreams here in the UK. This can be a tough industry and so we need to do what we can to bring talented young people into it.”

This is a very big deal as Creative Talent is in its third season, and gives young people of all backgrounds invaluable industry experience and insight across Warner Brother’s UK film, TV, video games and theatre operations. A series of special events and master classes delivered by industry experts is an integral part of the scheme.
